Veterans Arrows

Free Archery Program for Veterans

Where: Natick AMVETS Post 79, 1 Superior Drive, Natick, Ma. 01760

When: Lesson and Demonstration is held upstairs in the main hall. This is intended to be a continuous program with future dates and programs to be decided. The next date is to be determined. Please follow us on Facebook for upcoming event dates.
 

Why: Archery requires discipline, focus, training, clarity of mind and skill retention. Veterans tend to thrive under these conditions.
 

Archery requires focus and helps to block out distractions including various stressors and invasive thoughts thus bringing a sense of calm to the archer.
 

Our goal is to provide the Veteran with a safe and nurturing environment that can enable him or her to work
towards achievable goals and objectives and in some instances assist in making the transition to civilian life smoother.
 

Who:  Any Veteran of the United States Armed Forces. Each Veteran may bring a guest. We must limit attendance to the first 40 to sign up. The first 20 to sign up will be guaranteed range time. Disabled Veterans with the ability to draw back a 12 pound low velocity recurve bow will be given priority selection/ bumping rights for range time. To be clear a Veteran and a guest = 2 participants.
 

How: Sign Up and Show Up! This program is free to any interested Veteran. All equipment is provided, do not bring your own. All applicants must be sober to participate. Pre-registration is required.
